Michael Tasner started seeing a chiropractor over 10 years ago to help alleviate his back pain. As he was sitting in the waiting room, where he had been so many times before, he couldn’t help but think, “Why aren’t there more patients in here?” The staff was friendly, courteous and organized. On top of that, the chiropractor who owned the practice had given him his life back, allowing him the ability to pick up his small children again and play on the floor with them for hours without complaint, even after a long work day at his computer. Michael couldn’t fathom why there were not more people there. He went on with his appointment, scheduled his next one at the front desk and left on a mission.

Upon returning to his home, he googled the office. The chiropractor’s name came up on the second page of Google. When clicking on the website, it looked dated, was not mobile optimized and was lacking some serious keywords in its limited content. Then he ventured over to Facebook and a page with barely any likes and a few posts from a few years back lived. The doctor didn’t even have a LinkedIn. Thinking back over his first few years with them, the front office attendant would always call to confirm his upcoming appointment, but he never saw postcards or follow up emails asking for referrals go out.

“It might not have seemed important to them,” says Tasner. “But to a former CMO and longtime entrepreneur who has been in the game for a while, it meant everything. And ultimately, if you aren’t serving your patients to the best of your ability by making it easy to find you and refer you, then you are making things even harder on your practice.”

Michael quickly contacted his chiropractor and asked for a consultation. Only this time, Michael was the one prescribing.

After updated the office’s SEO, social media presence and setting up some basic referral campaigns, Michael realized that there was a gap in the industry. An important one that needed to be filled. About a month later, sitting in the same office, Michael saw double the patients. The chiropractor hired No Joke Marketing and over the past five years has doubled their new patient list and reports seeing more referrals than ever before.
